The water activated tape also called electric gummed tape dispenser or gummed paper tape machine is a starch-based adhesive. An animal glue-based adhesive can also be used. The starch-based adhesive becomes sticky when moistened and is usually found on a kraft paper backing.Water activated tape is often used for closing and sealing boxes. Before closing corrugated fiberboard boxes, the tape is moistened with water. The tape is usually 3 inches or 7.5 cm wide.
